Let me just relax into that for a moment...*sigh*
I love September for so many reasons. Apple season. The beginning of fall. Leaves skittering across the pavement. Pumpkin spice coffee. But most importantly, here in the south, it's starting to cool down, although not by much! Trust me, mid 80's feels pretty nice after a summer of hott weather days. This week nature has blessed us with much needed rain, and my little Pagan soul is very happy!
But September also means Maaaaabon! And Mabon is awesome because it's officially the start of fall, which means Halloween decorations!
The beginning of fall means the start of my favorite season...even if stores are trying to rush me through it. Don't think I'm not aware of that colorfully-lit tree tucked away in the garden section, Walmart. I'm on to your shit! I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and half the store is filled with Christmas crap already and the fall/Halloween decor is already On-Sale and Halloween is still 2 months away!
Okay, maybe I'm a little defensive of autumn. But it's always been my absolute favorite season!!! Even as a little girl I had choices as to what I wanted to be for Trick-Or-Treating (A Witch or Pocahontas). I never gave it any other options...and I didn't just claim them on the 1 night of the year that it was acceptable, because this WAS me all year long. You see, I'm BOTH Native American and a natural born Witch. But enough about me......
Mabon marks the autumn equinox, meaning daylight and nighttime are equal. After today, the darkness will begin to win the battle, gaining an extra minute or so every day as we progress towards winter. Now is the time when nature begins to slow and the harvests become less plentiful as the God prepares for his transition from the living realm into the afterlife. Though Mabon can arrive as early as September 20th or 21st depending on solar patterns, this year Mabon falls on September 23rd. So get ready to celebrate!
Like most Sabbats that are celebrated later in the year, Mabon is about reflection and letting go of that which does not serve us any longer. It's a chance to slough off the old and prepare for new beginnings. That smoking habit you've been meaning to quit? Biting your nails? Criticizing your co-worker's love for sweaters with cats knitted on the front? Still having pizza for breakfast? Now is the time to address these issues and make changes toward betterment.
The colors of Mabon are just as rich and warming as the colors of autumn—deep crimson, vibrant orange, lustrous gold, and earthy brown. If you're planning a feast, make sure to include all the fall bounties as well as late summer fruits and vegetables. Pumpkin, squash, berries, nuts, and corn are all fantastic inclusions.
Here's a few ideas of how you can celebrate Mabon:
~ Make Popcorn
~ Balance Your Chakras
~ Have a Pumpkin Spice Latte
~ Focus on Gratitude
With Mabon being a time of reflection and balance, what better way to celebrate than to make a list for all that you are thankful for?
~ Bring in some nature
If you're anything like me, you're just itching to get something decorative in your home this fall. Since it's a touch early for ghosts and jack-o-lanterns, why not take a nature walk and collect whatever beautiful, natural treasures you stumble upon? Colored leaves. Acorns. Gnarled twigs. Pine cones. Cool rocks. Bring a bag and collect whatever catches your eye. Arrange it on a table or counter top when you get home, throw in a candle or two (maybe gold and red) and you've got yourself an instant natural Mabon altar! You can even leave your natural masterpiece up for a few weeks as a spectacular (and FREE!) fall decoration!
Happy Fall Ya'll !!!

Come celebrate this Lughnassadh with us.
"Lammas or Lughnassadh (Loo-NAHS-ah) named for the Irish sun God, Lugh, looked upon as the first of the three Pagan harvest festivals. We celebrate the abundance of the harvest and the nurturing of the giving mother earth. Honor is given to the Goddess, in her guise as the Queen of Abundance, as the new mother who has given birth to the bounty. Honor is given to the God as the Father of Prosperity who despite his waning strength, still provides us with the bounty of the earth that has been nurtured by the Sun throughout the summer months.
For this we come together to pay them homage.”

April’s full moon will take place at 7:12 am EST. What is interesting about April’s full moon is that for the second month in a row the full moon is in the sign of Libra. I guess as a collective we could use a little more Libra influence in our lives. April’s full moon is also known as the Pink Moon because the flower, Moss Phlox, is one of the first springtime flowers to bloom. These pretty pink flowers cover the ground like a pink blanket.
Lately, the majority of us have been feeling restless, moody, and impulsive especially in when it comes to our relationships. The little things that have been bothering you before about people are probably unbearable and extremely annoying at this time. The moon is opposite of Uranus which can make us restless and more sensitive than usual. Uranus is a mover, a shaker, and can be a bit spontaneous.
With the Full Moon energy of heightened emotions, the fiery influence of Aries, and then the edginess of Uranus, we will most likely be making spur of the moment decisions. A word or two of caution during this moon; Uranus can be volatile and if we aren’t careful, we could possibly burn bridges that we may regret burning.
Let’s not forget that the sun sign we are in is Aries. Aries has a tendency to be impulsive, short-tempered, and overconfident. However, these qualities can really help us when it comes to breaking free from limiting circumstances. Sometimes just that little bit of confidence is just what we need to go beyond our self-inflicted limitations.
If we are proactive during this time, we can make huge progress in the areas where we’ve been stagnant and frustrated with. Libra is going to help us create more balance in all of our relationships; the good, the bad, and the ugly. This is the perfect time for us to strengthen and nurture relationships that are for our highest and best good. It is also a great time to pull back the carpet and deal with what’s been swept under it.
Here are some helpful tips and activities during this moon:
Let’s not forget to show our deep love and appreciation for the people in our lives who brighten up our darkest days by letting them know how much they mean to us and how much better our lives are for them being a part of our worlds. Brightest of Blessings )0(
I would like to start by saying that the first class of Metaphysics 101 went better than I expected, and would like to thank everyone who attended the class. I know that I lost some of you on the topic and the first class may have been a little confusing for some, but that is why I think the class went great. There are several reasons for that.
First and foremost. Because the topic of Metaphysics is so large and somewhat confusing, it is important to give a base view of the whole picture. We are talking about how the Multiverse works and how you can directly influence it. Not just the how of magick, but the why it works and what magick is. With that knowledge, We can craft better actions and receive better results. We will go into more details about these concepts in later classes.
#2 Because this topic is so large, I needed to find out where the class was on your understanding of the topic, and you needed to know where I stood. Testing the waters, so to speak. Now knowing this, we may craft a better class to get better results.
#3 This class is for knowledge, and knowledge can take you out of your comfort zone. I know that during the classes, you are absorbing the knowledge from the class, and it will take days, if not weeks to digest all of this and form questions. This is what this discussion group is for. Comment below your questions, and we will take a crack at answering them. All of us. Please remember that you have experience and insight that no one else has, so you will only add to the groups understanding of the topic. We all have something we can add. And most importantly, the only wrong question is the unasked question.
#4 I see the need for handouts and thought experiments, so I will start providing these materials in the class. I also encourage you to take notes so you can look these things up yourself. The ability to research and verify information for yourself may be one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. Trust but verify.
#5 This is the first time I have taught anything in a classroom setting. So, like you, there will be a learning curve for me as well. Please help me out by giving me direct feedback on this class. One of the goals in this class is to design a workbook to help future students with this class. By your participation, you are helping to write this workbook.
#6 My goal is to provide the best form of education for my students. I have structured the claas like a collage course, complete with assignment and final project. There will be no grade for the class, for only you will know what you get out of the class. It is not up to me to judge your understanding of the class. There will be a certificate of completion for those who take all of the classes, participated in the discussion groups and completes the projects. You will also gain a support group that has a similar understanding of the topic. Whatever you do with it is up to you.
So let the fun begin… ask away… let me know what you think…

As daunting of a task as this may be, if you can stay organized this is actually quite relaxing and it does get your creative juices flowing. There is NO RIGHT OR WRONG way to make a BOS, it is a reflection of YOU and YOUR path or practice. You could make it as decorative as you'd like if you're highly creative but it doesn't have to be. Its up to your preferences and what you like. This is just a basic list of what could be included into your BOS. (I am a bit OCD and like to print my pages off and put them in page protectors and then into the correct section in a binder.) Again, it's what works for you and your own personal preference! What else would you add to this list?
Ideas of what to put into a BOS:
~ A Dedication ( if you feel you need one)
~ A Book Blessing
~ Laws of your coven or tradition
